Top Takeaways from RPNA Board Meeting (3/17)

The RPNA held its Board meeting on 3/17. Key takeaways are as follows:

  • RPNA is bringing back the full 4th of July festival this year, including the traditional Carlson Drive parade route, and the Classic Car Parade beginning at 10am. The Kids Parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. followed by more fun at Glenn Hall Park – live music by Mike Blanchard and Californios, food trucks, arts and craft vendors, chalk art contest and kids games galore! More information to come.
  • RPNA is working with the City and SactoMoFo to bring back Food Truck Mania to Glenn Hall Park (typically includes 3-5 food trucks, beer/wine vendor, and live music).  It will be the second Friday of the month, from 5-8pm, running from May – Sep.
  • The head of City Utilities and a representative from the City Attorney’s office joined the meeting to discuss the Erlewine Gate.  The City expressed interest in identifying a solution that would continue to allow residents to access via a code lock, but liability issues remain unresolved.  Five residents participating in the meeting formed a Committee to work with the City on a solution.
  • The Neighborhood Improvement Committee is working through some takeaways from the recent survey completed by over 100 residents. Work includes working with SacPD on increasing patrols, with the Fire Marshall on Fire Safety, looking to flag any street lights that are out, and improving safety signage at Paradise Beach.

Our next board meeting is 4/21 at 7:30pm via Zoom.  All residents are welcome to join, and we will distribute an agenda in advance with instructions for how to join.
