Community Tree Planting: Saturday, November 20, 2021
Join us at our seventh community tree planting! We have planted nearly 171 trees since January, 2015.
The trees are provided by SMUD and sited by the Tree Foundation. After you apply, a Community Forester will visit your home to determine the best place to plant one of the deciduous trees offered by SMUD and the Tree Foundation.
Planting assistance is provided to those who request it. Trees are provided at no cost to the homeowner, but tree maintenance is the homeowner’s responsibility.
If you do not have access to email, send your name, address and phone number to: RPTCP Tree Program, c/o RPNA, P.O. Box 19866, Sacramento, CA 95819
If you can’t participate in the River Park Tree Planting Day on November 20th, you can contact the Sacramento Tree Foundation or SMUD at any time to sign up for a free tree, at 916-924-8733 or shadetrees@sactree.com
The River Park Tree Canopy Project is a Neighborwoods Program co-sponsored by the River Park Neighborhood Association, the River Park Garden Club, the Sacramento Tree Foundation, Caleb Greenwood School, SMUD, and Councilmember Jeff Harris. We are a community-based effort to restore and enhance the tree canopy in River Park. River Park’s beautiful trees improve air quality, reduce energy costs, increase our property values, and provide a respite from summer’s heat.
