Holiday Lights Competition Ballot
The annual tradition continues! Join your River Park neighbors on December 20th and 21th to tour the holiday-decorated homes of River Park.
Each December, homes throughout River Park light up for a friendly neighborhood decorating contest. Everyone is invited to stroll the streets, enjoy the displays, and vote for your favorites in one of three categories:
Most Traditional Holiday
Most Unique
Best Theme
Over the last few years, Holiday Lights has grown from a simple candy table into a full neighborhood experience—complete with a firepit, cocoa & cider station, and even Santa himself! Last year brought our biggest turnout yet, with neighbors walking, carpooling, and even arriving by decorated truck.
🎄 This Year’s Holiday Lights Tour
Saturday & Sunday, December 20–21 | 5–8pm
Start your tour at the Cocoa + Cider Station (5809 Callister) to pick up your map & ballot, warm up by the fire, and enjoy a cup of cocoa or cider.
🎶 🥁 The River Park Marching Musicians will be joining us at the ballot box on Saturday 5:45-7:00pm to play your holiday favorites!
🎅🏽 Santa is coming!!!! Santa will be visiting the families of River Park for the holiday lights contest on Huston Ct. on *Saturday only*. Come give Santa your Christmas wish list!
This year features a streamlined route and paper ballots to make voting even easier.
Completed ballots may also be dropped off at 5809 Callister.

❤️ Want to Volunteer?
Holiday Lights are made possible by our amazing neighbors! We’re looking for help with:
• Creating the neighborhood map & ballot (1–3 weeks before event)
• Assembling & distributing numbered lanterns to 15–20 homes (day of)
• Staffing the Cocoa & Cider Station (during event)
• Helping us make the event more accessible by assembling a video collage for homebound neighbors
If you’d like to volunteer or have questions, contact Elise Drakes at elisedrakes@gmail.com or sacramentorpna@gmail.com.

💪🏽 River Park Patrol Needs You!
🚨 Help Keep River Park Safe – Join Our Neighborhood Watch!
Help keep our community safe as Paradise Beach reopens. We’re seeking 10–12 volunteers to patrol Friday and Saturday nights (10pm–midnight) from May to August. You can also get involved by walking, jogging, or driving through the neighborhood at other times. Patrols are flexible and divided into three manageable areas. Just 2–3 patrols a month and a few short meetings per year make a big difference.
📢 Make a Report
Be sure to report all River Park issues to our Neighborhood Watch captain, Rex Hessock. Issues are compiled and shared with our Sac PD representative to help allocate police resources more effectively.
Report any issues like underage drinking, vandalism, or homelessness, and help us work with local police to keep River Park safe.
📞Contact Rex Hesock at (916) 214-1623 or rbandit@aol.com, or email riverparkpatrol@aol.com to get involved!
🗓 Next Board Meeting Date:
The RPNA Board of Directors meets every month on the 3rd Thursday, and any RPNA member is welcome to attend. The next meeting is Thursday, January 15th, at 7:30 pm at Fremont Presbyterian Church Rm #E211. If you are interested in attending or if you would like more information about Board meetings, please get in touch with us!
